Post Employment Counselling and Planning

The move by pension funds globally to move from Defined Benefit to Defined Contribution Schemes has pushed responsibility for sustaining life after work away from organisations and pension funds to individuals.

Even in developed countries, many pensioners find themselves unable to survive off their pensions alone, and thus have to resort to going back to work at a time they should be resting. In Zimbabwe, pensions have been eroded by successive bouts of hyperinflation, leaving pensioners destitute right from day one of leaving work.

Fingrow Advisory Services offers post-employment planning and counseling services to employees starting from while they are still employed, right through to when they leave, as well as post retirement. By planning for life after work while you are still employed, you are better able to handle unexpected events like retrenchment, and ultimately can also plan to transition into self-employment/entrepreneurship should you wish to go in that direction.

Our Post-Employment Counseling and Planning services are provided as follows:

Corporate

For companies and pension funds, we provide group sessions where your employees can be taken through planning and counselling sessions to raise awareness as well as introduce the concept of post-retirement planning to them. These sessions can be for active employees, employees about to undergo retrenchment or employees about to retire.

Individual

We offer programmed training sessions on how to successfully transition from formal to self-employment to individuals wishing to take charge of their post-work life. There are several considerations that one needs to make, as well as obstacles and hurdles that one needs to avoid in order to enhance the chances of successfully starting and growing a business after leaving work. Our sessions are provided at convenient times (after-hours and weekends) to cater for existing work schedules.

  • Session 2: Developing a viable business idea
  • Session 3: Planning for starting your Business

Companies and individuals can take up one, or all three sessions depending on the stage they are. The first session is an awareness-raising session suitable for all employees, while the last two are more relevant for those about to either leave work, be retrenched or be retired.
